Our client is a well established consultancy that provides specialised advice and support to international organisations.
Our client is looking to develop its capabilities in Sub Saharan Africa to support its growing client base and to support contracts that may be forthcoming in the coming year. These contracts will involve substantial projects where local business entities as well as individuals will be sought to fulfil the requirements of contracts throughout Sub Saharan Africa.
Our client is looking to identify a suitably qualified and connected professional who will be able to conduct a broad range of due diligence functions with strong emphasis on the analysis of information and presentation of detailed reports. This is a key role in the development of the company’s operations in Sub Saharan Africa
JOB DESCRIPTION
Initially a part time function, this position has the potential to become full time in due course. The role will be self-starting and the ideal candidate will be independent and will be able to work quickly and efficiently with little supervision.
The role will be critical in providing the information that will support business decisions to be made in relation to the selection and development of local resource. The nature of searches conducted on organisations will include;
- Due diligence enquiries
- Personnel screening
- Financial intelligence
- Litigation records
- Economic viability assessment.
- Citizenship and immigration verification
- Financial records (inc. bankruptcies, court judgements, credit checks)
- Auditing/accounting research
- Employment and education verification
- Anti-money laundering verification
Gathering, analysing and prioritising information will be the primary function of the role.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will have at least:
- Bachelor’s degree or 36 months comparable work/military experience.
- Operating in an analyst’s role or similar you will have gained experience in collating, analysing and presenting information in a clear, concise and logical format to senior management boards or committees.
- 5-10 years experience in investigatory roles in South Africa, for example, in police.
- Experience of anti-fraud, anti-counterfeiting, anti-corruption, serious crime, intellectual property or insurance sectors.
- Existing links with the South African authorities would be a definite advantage, as would contacts with relevant organisations in other sub-Saharan countries.
- Advanced organisational and time management skills as well as superior oral and written communication skills.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Will have extensive knowledge of South African culture, politics, geography and socio-economic dynamics.
- Will demonstrate high levels of discretion, integrity, flexibility and confidentiality.
