OVERVIEW

Manage and coordinate security matters between regional security and the respective business disciplines throughout the region by implementing the Regional Security Strategy and Work Program. Conduct security risk assessments and analyze regional security matters, further providing a centre of investigative expertise for matters of fraud and other serious breakdowns in internal controls.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Introduce, implement, manage and support regional security management strategies.
• Provide advice, support, guidance and training on security risk management matters across all business associates in Sub Saharan Africa.
• To continuously assess risks/threats and conduct security risk assessments and make recommendations aimed at protecting assets.
• Develop and deliver security awareness programmes.
• Perform high level investigations around matters of fraud, theft, ethical issues, conflict of interests and internal control breakdowns.
• Report on investigations and make recommendations to business management.
• Identify, develop, train and manage a cost effective security organisation to meet and support:
• Company’s business requirements
• Company’s ethical principles
• The continuous changing security threat
• Set goals, targets and objectives for the measurement of security performance.
• Develop and communicate fraud prevention, detection, reaction guidelines.
• Develop and implement business specific security management plans.
• Maintain and enhance the fraud database and system for reporting incidents and losses.
• Provide security assurance to management by tracking incidents through the Traction and e-SIMS system.
• Liaise with other key support functions specifically HSE, Internal Audit, Legal and HR.
• Champion company’s Code of Conduct and other Group ethics policies.
• Develop, maintain and expand external security contacts.
• Build relationships with company’s employees/contractors, private security contingencies, other organizational security contingencies, local law enforcement agencies, government/military departments, embassies and other international companies.
• Implementation of the Group Security Standard throughout the region.
• Manage and affect special assignments and projects as otherwise required by the Regional Security Manager.
• Negotiate/manage the contract for the provision of security services.
• Champion the company’s Group Security Standard and initiatives e.g. “Getting Security Right”.
• Manage the security services budget.
• Conduct training and supervise Business Security Representatives.
• Conduct security surveys and other assessments of security effectiveness.
• Serve as the primary link with Regional Security Networks.
• Provide advanced planning and protective measures for VIP visits as required.
• Collect and collate information, which in conjunction with Group Security provides the basis of the country risk assessment and alert states.
• In conjunction with Communications and External Affairs issue security warnings/alerts.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Tertiary qualification in Security Risk Management and Forensic Investigations.
• In house training in similar disciplines supported by external security training would be an advantage.
• A legal qualification would be an added advantage.
• Demonstrable personal commercial experience in the field of security risk management, forensic and incident investigation.
• Working experience and exposure to criminal and civil law.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in the commercial security field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal as well as professional skills to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
• Demonstrable access to establish law enforcement networks and other related agencies.
• African language would be advantageous.
